Q: Vyclone - interesting name. What does it mean?

A: It’s a Video cYclone.

Q: We know it’s an app, but tell us please what is your uniqueness in the app world.

A: Current video apps only let you create movies from a single point-of-view. You share those movies out to a stream in a hope that a lot of people will see them, love them and remember them.

We don’t think this process is especially social.

Vyclone is truly social. It allows co-creation. It connects people and content in space and time.

Q: Where did you find an inspiration and help for this really amazing project ?

A: I saw thousands of people filming separately at large events. I wanted to connect them all. I also have no patience for video editing software and I’ve always thought it should be much simpler. Put these two desires together and Vyclone is what comes out.

Q: Do you see Vyclone in the service of citizen journalists ?

A: Vyclone has the potential to become the definitive medium for citizen journalists. If you can see events from every angle the narrative is so much more complete. You can see that there is peace on one street and war on the next block. You can see that one percent of a protest is violent while the other ninety nine are peaceful. You can see that people standing side-by-side may disagree.

Q: The whole world is eagerly awaiting the Olympics. Will that be a great test of cooperation between Vyclone and citizen journalists ?

A: Huge global events like the Olympics bring people from so many backgrounds, with so many stories to tell, together in one place. Vyclone will help them to tell their stories, from their own and from shared perspectives.

Q: Take three words to describe Vyclone, and three more words to describe citizen journalism ?

A: Eyes of everyone.

Truth by everyone.

Q: Where do you see Vyclone in the future ?

A: We believe that Vyclone could become the de facto standard for the way people film life. They are going to see the power of the collective story and how it changes they way they capture the significant moments in their personal lives and the significant moments they share with communities and the world.

Ultimately the future of Vyclone is in the hands of the people.

Q: Your angle of vision for the future of citizen journalism .

A: I hope that Vyclone can deliver not just more information, but more truth.
